Member Basin Electric Tour

FEM has the perfect vacation for co-op members. Each summer, we offer a consumer tour to see the power generation and transmission facilities of Basin Electric Power Cooperative (one of FEM's power supply partners). As a cooperative member of Basin, FEM Electric members own a share of these generation assets. This is an all-expense paid tour, and is only open to members of FEM Electric.

The trip will include a tour of the Antelope Valley Station, lignite coal generation plant located northwest of Beulah, ND, and a tour of the Freedom Mine which supplies lignite coal to the plant. It is one of the ten largest coal mines in the United States. Other entertainment (upon availability) may include a cruise on the Lewis & Clark Riverboat, seeing a wind energy farm, or touring a hydro plant at the Garrison Dam.

Reservations are limited on a first-come first-serve basis. The Cooperative Connections newsletter sometime in the spring will have more information and the application form.
